[Posted: 17 Jun 2014]

Hone your professional skills with the help of prominent Australian business leaders and mentors!

The Big Idea is a national competition run by The Big Issue, Australia’s longest standing and most significant social enterprise. The Work Integrated Learning team invites enterprising Curtin University students to form a team of two to six people, to develop a business plan that makes an impact on the lives of others.

The Big Issue is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that delivers solutions to help homeless, marginalised and disadvantaged people to positively change their lives. The competition invites students to develop a concept and business plan for a social enterprise that might become the next ‘Big Issue’.

The Big Idea is more than just a competition. It’s a ground breaking initiative offering students unprecedented access to social entrepreneurs, Australian ‘Thought Leaders’ and experts across a variety of business sectors. This guidance, advice and direction will ensure students are well placed to develop their ideas into business plans for viable social enterprise.

Register for The Big idea now! Individual or team registrations are accepted.

For more information on the competition, please visit The Big Idea website. To find out more about representing Curtin University, please contact Sonia Ferns at s.ferns@curtin.edu.au.
